Embedding in a nite 2-generator semigroup
In this paper we will be on erned with the possibility of embedding a nite semigroup S into a nite 2-generated semigroup T that shares properties with S. In parti ular we show that any nite orthodox semigroup S may be embedded in a nite orthodox semigroup T generated by two group elements and that any nite orthodox monoid S1 may be embedded as a semigroup into a nite 2-generated orthodox monoid...

The Numerical Semigroup of Phrases' Lengths in a Simple Alphabet
Let A be an alphabet with two elements. Considering a particular class of words (the phrases) over such an alphabet, we connect with the theory of numerical semigroups. We study the properties of the family of numerical semigroups which arise from this starting point.
متن کاملOn the Cayley Semigroup of a Finite Aperiodic Semigroup
Let S be a finite semigroup. In this paper we introduce the functions φs : S ∗ → S, first defined by Rhodes, given by φs([a1, a2, . . . , an]) = [sa1, sa1a2, . . . , sa1a2 · · · an]. We show that if S is a finite aperiodic semigroup, then the semigroup generated by the functions {φs}s∈S is finite and aperiodic.
متن کاملEmbedding the Bicyclic Semigroup into Countably Compact Topological Semigroups
We study algebraic and topological properties of topological semigroups containing a copy of the bicyclic semigroup C(p, q). We prove that each topological semigroup S with pseudocompact square contains no dense copy of C(p, q). On the other hand, we construct a consistent example of a Tychonov countably compact semigroup containing a copy of C(p, q). In this paper we study the structural prope...
